Die Bemalt Dame
Artist Tribute to Ernst Ludwig Kirchner
For this project we were tasked with creating something inspired by the work of an artist. I was inspired by Weiblicher Akt, an oil painting by German expressionist Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. I wanted something fun and playful to go along with the bright colors in the painting, and to create Die Bemalt Dame, or the painted lady, I created a textile print that mimicked the look of Kirchner's paint strokes.

Original Textile Prints
These prints were created from an original gouache painting and put into Adobe PS where I was able to fill a canvas with a non repeating pattern of the paint. The pink fabric was digitally printed and taken from the pink in the print design for an exact color match.
