Transcendence.

Transcendence is about challenging perceptions of gender and style. It combines elements of femininity with elements of masculinity, and provokes new conceptions of gender and expression. This collection blends lingerie, fetishwear, and formalwear into a new style centered around self-expression and a celebration of queerness.

My inspiration is centered largely around my experiences growing up as a queer, transgender man, and also around my own feelings and notions of gender itself. Gender is something that is fluid, ever-changing, and gender expression is something that can be playful and joyous. To bring these themes to a center in my collection, all of my models are transgender and/or gender-nonconforming, and each outfit is meant to evoke different forms of gender euphoria for the wearer and the viewer. Each outfit is also meant to represent a different stage in my own exploration and presentation of my gender and my identity.

This physical making of this collection has been put on hold indefinitely due to COVID-19.
It was originally intended to be created for the NC State University AATS Fashion Expose in 2020.
