Cotton Incorporated: Knit Product Development Internship

I was hired by Cotton Incorporated for an internship in Knit Product Development from June 2022-May 2023. During this internship, I focused on designing, programming, and knitting of flat knit fabrics for the CottonWorks FABRICAST™ line using the Stoll M1Plus software, the Shima Seiki APEX software, and creations using a Dubied Hand-Knitting machine.
During this internship I learned more in-depth knowledge about yarn selection, dyeing and finishing processes, and sustainability in the textiles industry.

FK-1125, designed on Stoll M1 Plus. Uses thermoplastic yarn mixed with cotton to achieve texture.
FK-1129, designed on Shima Seiki APEX. Faux cable knit, created with a high-bulk polyester inlay between cotton yarns.
FK-1130, created on Shima Seiki APEX. Created with black cotton boucle inlay between one end of monofilament fiber and one end of 20/2 cotton yarn.
